First-ever “Duplicate Poker World Championship” has been announced by DuplicatePoker.com It’ll run for some months and end with the final this autumn. This year competition makes use of the unique format of Duplicate Poker, in which the same cards are dealt to players at all the tables. The cards are from an in-common deck that is used across all the tables. Success in the Duplicate poker format, considered as a “skill game” and legal in the majority of United States jurisdictions, is done by ranking the participants by means of how well they played the dealt cards comparing with opponent players at other tables who had the same hands.

There will be either online or live segments of play at the Duplicate Poker World Championship. The 180 qualifiers have been holding since the beginning of February and till the 14th of September. The online poker qualifiers will go on to regional play, and then quarterfinal playoffs will follow. The regional round and quarterfinal ones will be online as well.

The winners of quarterfinal will create regional teams of 7 gamblers each. Complete travel packages (airfare, hotel accommodations and meals) will be given to the semifinalists to a live venue where the semifinal round and final one will hold. Its date will be announced later. They will score either individually or as a team in the finals.

Players must put in the top 6 of the weekly DuplicatePoker Tournament Leader Board during one of the online qualifying weeks to get qualification for the Duplicate Poker World Championship. Qualifications start afresh every week.
