Playtech, the biggest supplier of online gaming software in the world, saw farther big demand for its poker and casino games during the first quarter. In the fourth quarter, 2007 the company’s revenues grew 14.4 percent over the monthly average, that made chief executive, Mor Weizer, confident that it’d meet expectations for the year 2008. On 4 March, the group reported that in January 2008 regular daily royalties grew 11.7 percent over the average in the last quarter in 2007 and this kept on in February.
Recently Playtech has got bigger on the back of starting its iPoker network that has begun to overtake PartyGaming, the gaming market leader. For the year to the end of December revenues corresponded with expectations, increasing from USD90.1million to USD103.6million (£52.3millon).
Pre-tax profit cut down from USD60.7million to USD42.3million, and administrative expenses towering after they had invested a lot in development and research. Nonetheless, net cash was USD86.5million despite a $10.3million investment in CY Foundation and USD5 million in AsianLogic, its customer, the group based in Hong Kong.
