California May Make A Decision On Online Poker Bill
At the end of this August a bill concerning online poker could appear. This bill is now going via the California Senate that comes to a decision which can become precedent for other states of the USA to follow it if it’s approved. It’s moving to the Senate Appropriations Committee. If the Committee approves it, the next will be a full vote by the legislature of the state. If the State Senate of California agrees to pass this bill, California will be the first state that would offer its people to play online poker legally.
A Democrat Lloyd Levine, who represents Van Nuys introduced this bill. The name of this assemblyman will go in history if this bill passes. California could legalize and regulate online poker in the state, and may create the rules which other states of the USA could follow. Originally the bill was made to create a commission on studying online poker and the reaction to the game of citizens of California. The study had to provide sufficient information that could allow California’s lawmakers to make a decision to legalize online poker or not. The results of the study have been debated by the state’s legislators and now it is time of a final vote for implementing the findings.
To meet conditions that are outlined by the UIGEA, the Senate Governmental Organization Committee of the state voted 6 to 1 for the following: the Bureau of Gambling Control will work together with the Gambling Control Commission of California to develop and implement regulations for when this bill is legalized. These groups have the enthusiastic support of the people, particularly from the side of the Poker Voters of America.
