Germany Restricts Online Gambling
After the Constitutional amendment passed in Germany this January gambling in this country is no easy at the moment. Actually the government of Germany is in the middle of some serious dispute over the new controversial legislation targeted foreign as well as domestic online casinos and gambling companies. Tipp24 AG is the main argument and actually they took this case into the courts. However, the news from the Constitutional Court is not good for Tipp24. The Federal Court decided that the appeal of Tipp24 that is based on Constitutional freedoms and rights wasn’t justified.
During the past several years the online gambling industry has become very tangled because some countries try to use new legislation and adjust existing laws with these new laws concerning the online casino industry. The difficulty of the issue, however, for companies that are interested in the German gambling market is in that that foreign casinos are hit hard by the new legislation. On the other hand, Tipp24 has some rights in the country’s market still, but the new legislation destroyed these rights and at the point has limited the gaming and lottery offerings from the company in different parts of the country.
And it is interesting why Germany courts sided with the German government in spite of protests from the online gambling community and the European Commission warnings because Germany violates policies and practices of European Union. So, like a number of other countries the government is pulling the argument of safety in spite of the fact the online gambling industry is much safer than before and all the main casino sites have specific technology to prevent casino gambling addictions.
